Merry Christmas!

From our family to yours, we wish you a very merry Christmas! May your day be full of the love of family and friends, the joy of gift giving, and most importantly the pondering of the real meaning of Christmas for Christians: the birth of our Saviour Jesus Christ!

The prophet Isaiah wrote of the Messiah: “For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace” (9:6). He came as the Messiah for the Jews. He was rejected and crucified, only to be resurrected on the third day to eternal glory, bringing in a new covenant and the fulfillment of the old covenant (the Law). Now, both Jew and Gentile can be saved through the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross. And it all started with God stepping from His throne into His very own creation as a baby born of the virgin Mary!

May we never forget the depth of the love of God who brought all of this into existence. Even though sin corrupted God’s creation and separated us from fellowship with Him, God’s plan of salvation was put in motion with the birth of Jesus the Son of God! May we remember and marvel at the awesomeness of God’s plan, and especially at this time of year, may we share the true meaning of Christmas with others who only see it as a commercial holiday.

God bless!
